Welcome to the website for the South Region of the Riding for the Disabled Association. The region covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire and has groups which are independant charities. The groups are all members of RDA. We are a charity based in the South that provides activities and professional instruction for disabled and disadvantaged people.
The RDA can boast some impressive facts including having over 23,000 riders and drivers and over 18,000 volunteers giving more than 3.5 million hours of their free time every year.
Our groups are dedicated to ensuring that all our riders and carriage drivers receive a high standard of professional tuition tailored to their personal ambitions and capabilities. Our instructors work closely with physiotherapists and other health professionals to encourage every individual to aim for attainable goals – some modest, others far more ambitious.
While competition plays a healthy role in RDA activities, our focus is to ensure that all our riders and carriage drivers derive maximum benefit from a positive and enjoyable form of therapy.
The secret to our success? RDA is a ‘Family’ - a unique combination of people and ponies working together and believing that anything (and everything) is possible …..
